Imperial Springs International Forum
The ImperialSprings International Forum was founded in 2014 and co-hosted by the AustraliaChina Friendship and Exchange Association (ACFEA), the Chinese People'sAssociation for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), the GuangdongProvincial People's Government, and the World Leadership Alliance-Club deMadrid. The forum aims to promote understanding and consensus among differentparties through discussions of such important topics as international peace,economic development, and cultural exchange, so as to further regional andglobal cooperation. It has become a new and high-end platform for China toconduct all-round communication with the world.The 2018 Imperial Springs International Forum was held on December 10th and 11th, 2018. Vice President Wang Qishan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. The leaders of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Government and the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee, and the Municipal Government also attended the opening ceremony. Forty former heads of state and government and leaders of international organizations, and 80 experts and business leaders, were invited for in-depth discussions on the theme of "Advancing Reform and Opening-Up, Promoting Win-Win Cooperation" that led to valuable conclusions. On December 12th, 2018, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with those 40 former heads of state and government and leaders of international organizations who attended the Forum. President Xi remarked that the 2018 Forum was being held at the same time the Chinese people were celebrating the 40th anniversary of Reform and Opening-up, which was considered a second revolution in China.
The ImperialSprings International Convention Center, Conghua District, Guangzhou, where theImperial Springs International Forum is held, is about 80 kilometers fromdowntown Guangzhou and 65 kilometers from the Guangzhou Baiyun InternationalAirport. Surrounded by mountains and waters with fresh air and beautifulscenery, the venue possesses valuable radon hot springs.
Conghua is alsoknown as the "winter capital" for Chinese leaders. Mao Zedong, ZhouEnlai, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping visited Conghua, and so did international leaderssuch as Former US President Richard Nixon and Former Vietnamese President HoChi Minh.
